PsychologistDirectory.com helps people find licensed mental health professionals, including psychologists and psychiatrists. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Where provider listings come from
Provider listings are built from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) NPI Registry, a public dataset published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. It includes each provider’s name, credential, specialty (taxonomy), practice address and phone. We refresh it regularly. Providers can ask us to correct, update or remove a listing through the For Psychologists or For Psychiatrists page.
Information you give us
You can search the directory without an account and without giving us your name. If you fill out a form, such as a listing request, we collect what you enter (for example name, email, phone, practice details and your message) and use it only to respond and to set up or update a listing.
Please do not send us health information about yourself through the site. We are a directory, not a health care provider, and we do not provide diagnosis, treatment or crisis services.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect usage information when you visit: pages viewed, searches made (such as a city, ZIP code or specialty), links clicked, device and browser type, referring site, and an approximate location based on your IP address. We use this to run the directory, show nearby results, understand which features help people, and fix problems.
We use these services to do that:
- Google Tag Manager, to manage site measurement tags.
- Amplitude and Mixpanel, for product analytics. These may record how pages are used, including interaction replays, with form entries masked.
- An IP geolocation service, to estimate your city so the home page can suggest nearby providers.
- Google Fonts, to display the site’s typefaces.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar storage to remember your cookie choices and site preferences, to measure visits, and to understand which outside links (for example to the free mental health check-up) are useful. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the cookie banner, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work as well without them.
Links to other sites
The directory links to other websites, including providers’ own sites, map services and the Million Minds Project free mental health check-up. When you follow such a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies. Links to partner sites may carry campaign tags so we can see which links people find helpful; they do not include your search history or anything you typed into a form.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above that help us run the site, when required by law, or to protect the site and its users.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions as long as needed to handle the request and maintain the listing. Analytics data is kept according to each analytics provider’s retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you submitted, and providers can ask us to update or remove their listing. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children
The site is intended for adults looking for care for themselves or their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
